Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area following fresh outbreaks of violence and unrest in several communities.
The directive, announced on Friday night in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, is aimed at restoring law and order in the troubled area.
Describing the disturbances as “unacceptable,” Governor Fintiri ordered security agencies to enforce the curfew strictly, warning that individuals or groups who defy the order will face arrest and prosecution.

“The Government is committed to protecting lives and property and ensuring the safety of all citizens,” the governor said, urging residents to comply with the curfew and cooperate with security personnel.
He further cautioned against the spread of rumors, encouraging the public to share credible information with authorities to help maintain calm.
The curfew takes immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice.
