Senate President Godswill Akpabio has thrown his weight behind the creation of Anioma State as a state in the the South East geopolitical zone.
Akpabio made the declaration during the All Progressives Congress (APC) zonal Congress held in Asaba, Delta State.

The Senate president insisted that the creation of Anioma State would be of great benefit and achievement for both the South-South and South-East regions.

He pleaded with the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, to allow the state to be, pointing out that in the event it scales through, the capital of the current Delta State will be Warri, while that of the new state will be Asaba as proposed.
