The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has discarded zoning and thrown its presidential ticket open for the 2023 election open to the 15 cleared candidates. The Trumpet authoritatively gathered.
Former Senate, David Mark will head the presidential primary committee while the convention will take place on May 28 & 29 in Abuja.
The decision was reached at the 96th meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) Wednesday night.
This put to rest speculations on where the party may likely zone the position.

Top on the agenda of the meeting was the consideration of the report of the PDP Zoning Committee led by Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom.
The 17 presidential aspirants that bought the N40m million PDP nomination forms were Bukola Saraki, Aminu Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar, Pius Anyim, Peter Obi, Sam Ohuabunwa, Dele Momodu, Nwachukwu Anakwenze, Udom Emmanuel, Nyesom Wike, Bala Mohammed, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, Ayo Fayose, Cosmos Ndukwe, Charles Ugwu, Chikwendu Kalu, and Tariele Diana Oliver (female aspirant).
Two of the aspirants were however disqualified by the David Mark screening committee.
