Two other members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have withdrawn their support from the impeachment proceeding against Governor Siminialayi Fubara and the state’s Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu.
The two lawmakers who announced their withdrawal from the impeachment process, are Barile Nwakoh, representing Khana Constituency I, and Emilia Amadi of Obio/Akpor Constituency II.
it would be recalled that on Monday, the Minority Leader, Sylvanus Nwankwo, who represents the Omuma constituency, and Peter Abbey of the Degema Constituency, announced their withdrawal from the impeachment proceedings at a press briefing in Port Harcourt.

The lawmakers also urged their colleagues to halt the impeachment process and heed the advice of the elders of the state.
Similarly, at a press briefing on Wednesday, Nwakoh and Amadi said their change of position followed the interventions by well-meaning leaders of the state.
With this development, a total of four out of the 26 lawmakers who signed the notice of alleged misconduct have now indicated their support for a peaceful resolution of the political impasse.
