Brazilian football star Danilo has officially parted ways with Juventus, marking the end of a successful five-and-a-half-year stint with the Italian giants. Both the player and the club confirmed on Monday that his contract was terminated by mutual agreement.
In an official statement, Juventus announced, “Danilo Luiz da Silva and Juventus have parted ways after five and a half years together, following a mutual termination of the player’s contract.”
Danilo departs Turin with an impressive legacy, having won a Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and one Italian Super Cup during his 213 appearances for the club. Italian media reports suggest that the 33-year-old defender is poised to return to his homeland to join Flamengo on a two-year deal.
Taking to Instagram, Danilo shared an emotional farewell message: “I knew this day would come sooner or later, but you’re never ready to say goodbye.” His departure comes amidst a challenging season for the defender, who fell out of favor following the arrival of coach Thiago Motta. The situation worsened when he was replaced as captain by Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
