The people of Brass Local Government Area in Bayelsa State have reaffirmed their dedication to development and stability by standing firmly behind the re-election of Governor Douye Diri. This was revealed by Hon. Isreal Sunny-Goli, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives and the traditional ruler of Kemmer-Ama, HRH Kemmer V Amadabo.

Hon. Sunny-Goli made the statement during Governor Diri’s Thank-You visit to Twon Brass, where the governor expressed appreciation to the community for their overwhelming support during the 2023 Bayelsa governorship election. The visit, marked by cultural warmth and political solidarity, was seen as a significant moment for reflection and renewed commitment between the government and the people of Brass.

“It was a profound honour to stand alongside my people in welcoming the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, to Twon Brass,” Sunny-Goli said. “His visit, a gesture of gratitude for the unwavering support he received from the Brass people, was not just ceremonial but deeply meaningful.”

The former lawmaker emphasized his personal contribution to Governor Diri’s victory and noted that the electoral outcome reflected a unified desire for continued progress and good governance. He praised the people of Brass for embracing a forward-looking vision that prioritizes sustainable development and political stability in Bayelsa State.

“I am proud to have played my part in this collective effort,” Sunny-Goli added. “The people of Brass have once again shown that they stand on the side of progress. Their decision to align with Governor Diri’s leadership will bring tangible benefits not only to our local communities but to Bayelsa State as a whole.”

The Thank-You visit comes at a time when unity and strategic partnerships between government and grassroots communities are vital for effective governance. With the reaffirmed support from Brass, Governor Diri’s administration is expected to deepen its development footprint in the area, particularly in infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment.
