Nigerian comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma, has weighed in on the viral Ibom Air incident involving female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, calling for her immediate release and condemning the public exposure of her privacy.
The controversy erupted after a video surfaced online showing Emmanson partially exposed during an altercation on an Ibom Air flight. The footage, which quickly spread across social media, sparked outrage over how the situation was handled by both fellow passengers and airline staff.
Initially, Bovi admitted he believed Emmanson’s alleged misconduct on the flight warranted disciplinary action. However, his stance changed after viewing the uncensored clip, which, he said, should never have been made public. In an Instagram post, the comedian criticized the airline staff member who allegedly recorded and shared the video, insisting they should be held accountable for violating her dignity and privacy.

Bovi argued that no airline employee or passenger has the authority to detain someone, stressing that such an act can be deeply distressing and potentially unlawful. He urged the authorities to urgently address the matter, warning that the incident raises serious concerns about passenger rights, personal privacy, and professional conduct in the aviation industry.
The Ibom Air incident has ignited heated debates online, with many Nigerians questioning the boundaries of in-flight discipline, the role of airline staff in passenger disputes, and the ethics of sharing sensitive videos without consent.
