The Borno Youths for Sustainable Development (BYSD) have praised Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, for his unwavering efforts in promoting peace and stability in the North East region.
In a statement issued after an emergency meeting held in Bauchi on Sunday, the group’s chairman, Mr. Salisu Alhaji, expressed gratitude to Badaru for his dedication to fostering peace. Alhaji described the minister as a tireless advocate for stability, whose efforts have yielded tangible results in the region.
Highlighting the achievements under Badaru’s leadership since assuming office on August 22, 2023, the group noted that Borno and Yobe states have experienced relative peace. This stability has enabled rapid socio-economic transformation across both states.
“The spate of kidnappings, terrorism, and violent crimes around the corridors of Taraba and Adamawa states is also witnessing a significant decline,” the group stated.
They attributed these gains to Badaru’s effective leadership and his commitment to fostering collaboration among security stakeholders.
The youth group lauded Badaru for prioritizing cooperation and synergy among Nigeria’s security agencies, a strategy they say has revitalized the country’s counter-insurgency efforts.

“For years, the lack of synergy undermined government efforts to combat insecurity. However, Badaru has emphasized coordination and strengthened partnerships to address these challenges,” the statement read.
The BYSD criticized detractors who have undermined the minister’s accomplishments and urged President Bola Tinubu to ignore calls for Badaru’s removal.
“We strongly urge the President to disregard unpatriotic calls for his sack. Badaru’s achievements in promoting peace and security speak volumes about his dedication and capability,” the group added.
The youths pledged to continue supporting the minister in his mission to ensure security and peaceful coexistence across Nigeria, as mandated by President Tinubu.
