The Borno state command of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), has emphasized the importance of exercising caution and being mindful of potential risks associated with post-flood disaster management.
The caution which was yesterday made by the Commissioner of Police , M. L Yuaufu, through the Supervising Police Public Relations Officer Northeast,
Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the Command is actively collaborating with pertinent agencies to uphold law and order, ensure public safety, prevent criminal activities, and facilitate the rescue of affected individuals.
While calling on the people to maintain vigilance and promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals, the need for them to refrain from entering flooded areas to minimize the risk of water-borne diseases and accidents, he believed has become necessary.

The commissioner who urged them to exercise awareness regarding potential incidents of looting and theft, encouraged them to extend cooperation to emergency responders and humanitarian aid workers.
The need for the people of the state to validate information before dissemination to prevent the propagation of misinformation, the Commissioner believed can no longer be overemphasized.
