In the wake of a deadly bomb explosion along the Maiduguri-Damboa Road, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Saturday visited victims receiving treatment at the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.
The blast, which occurred earlier in the day, claimed the lives of eight people and left several others injured.
Speaking during the hospital visit, Gov. Zulum expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, offering his condolences to the families of the deceased and praying for the swift recovery of the injured.
Describing the attack as “painful and tragic,” the governor condemned the act of violence and assured victims of the state government’s full support.

He immediately directed that all medical expenses for those affected be fully covered by the state government.
“Every victim of this terrible incident must receive comprehensive and free medical care. We are with them in this moment of grief and will not relent in our fight against those behind this violence,” Gov. Zulum said.
Providing an update on the casualties, the governor revealed that seven victims were in critical condition and receiving intensive care, while 14 others with less severe injuries were expected to be discharged soon.
Gov. Zulum also appealed to residents to remain resilient and called on the military and security agencies to strengthen efforts in protecting major roads and combating insurgency across the state.
