In a video, the insurgents asserted that the charms discovered with the women were proof of their idolatrous actions and subjected them to the faction’s improvised trial process.
The women were taken to a remote area of the mountains and executed following this so-called trial.
The report indicated that the execution was conducted publicly in front of other fighters and onlookers to instill fear and enforce adherence to the faction’s beliefs.
