Reality television personality Neo Akpofure has denied a rape allegation circulating on social media, with his legal team issuing a formal notice demanding an immediate retraction and apology.
The accusation surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter, where a user identified as @notralia alleged that the former Big Brother Naija housemate committed sexual assault during their time at the University of Calabar.
The claim spread quickly online, drawing public attention and prompting a legal response. Neo’s representatives, E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., described the allegation as false and defamatory. In a demand letter, the law firm stated that the accusation had caused serious reputational and emotional damage to their client by portraying him as a criminal and sexual offender.

The legal notice called on the accuser to delete the post, publish a public apology and retraction, and provide a written undertaking to refrain from making further defamatory statements. A 48-hour deadline was set, with the firm warning that failure to comply would result in immediate legal proceedings.
As of the time of filing this report, the individual who made the allegation has not issued a public response.
The development adds to ongoing conversations online regarding allegations of sexual misconduct involving public figures, as social media continues to play a central role in shaping public opinion and legal disputes in Nigeria.
