‎The management of Bayelsa United has issued a two-game ultimatum to players and coaches of the Prosperity Boys after the team’s series of unimpressive results in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
‎
‎Chairman of Bayelsa United, Dr. Tarilaye Nwankwe, announced the ultimatum at an emergency meeting with the players and coaches of the club in the camp in Yenagoa.
‎
‎According to him, the ultimatum will start from this weekend’s encounter against Warri Wolves at Ozoro and Plateau United at home on October 31, 2025, pointing out that the management would no longer entertain such performances going forward.
‎
‎He noted that the ultimatum became imperative due to the team’s poor performances in recent times, particularly last Sunday’s display against newly-promoted Kun Khalifat.

‎”The Bayelsa State government has invested heavily on the club and so far, the results have been far from impressive.

“We cannot continue with such performance; the investment must reflect on the pitch starting this weekend.
‎
‎”This is not a witch-hunt but an honest and concerted effort in ensuring that all involved in this club key into our philosophy of making Bayelsa United one of the foremost clubs in the country,” he stated.

Tinubu appoints new Service Chiefs in major shake-up of Nigeria’s Military leadership

‎Tinubu reaffirms Nigeria’s commitment to Religious freedom amid global concerns ‎ ‎Obah Sylva ‎ ‎President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to religious freedom, insisting that the nation remains a democracy built on constitutional guarantees that protect the rights and beliefs of all citizens. ‎ ‎In a statement released from the Presidency, Tinubu dismissed claims portraying Nigeria as religiously intolerant, describing such assertions as “inaccurate and inconsistent with the nation’s reality.” ‎ ‎He emphasized that his administration has maintained open lines of communication with both Christian and Muslim leaders since assuming office in 2023, noting that government policies have continued to address security concerns that affect Nigerians irrespective of faith or region. ‎ ‎The President stressed that religious tolerance remains central to Nigeria’s national identity, adding that the federal government has consistently upheld freedom of religion and belief for every citizen. According to him, any attempt to depict the country otherwise ignores the government’s sustained and sincere efforts to safeguard pluralism and peaceful coexistence. ‎ ‎“Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so,” Tinubu stated. “Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it.” ‎ ‎Reiterating his administration’s commitment to collaboration, the President assured that Nigeria will continue working closely with the United States government and the wider international community to promote mutual understanding and strengthen the protection of faith-based communities across the country. ‎ ‎With this declaration, Tinubu reaffirmed that the Nigerian government stands resolute in defending the rights of every individual to practice their faith freely, underscoring that unity and respect for diversity remain the cornerstones of the nation’s democratic journey. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
