The Traditional Ruler of Moko-Ama in Sangana, Akassa Kingdom, His Royal Highness King Theophilus Moses, has been nominated for the prestigious Man of the Year award by the Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to peace, unity, and grassroots development in Bayelsa State and beyond.
The monarch, who also received a second nomination as Peace Advocate of the Year, is the Kenibara VII of Moko-Ama Town in Akassa clan, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Speaking after receiving his nomination letter at his palace, King Moses expressed gratitude to the organizers, describing the honor as a recognition of his “little contributions” to humanity and the well-being of his people. He noted that the award would further inspire him to continue championing peace and development across the Niger Delta.
King Theophilus Moses, who was recently elected Chairman of the Akassa Council of Chiefs, emphasized the importance of unity among traditional rulers, noting that the Akassa Traditional Council remains the highest decision-making body in the kingdom. He also serves as Treasurer of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Central Zone, a tenure he will soon round off.

“I must thank the Bayelsa Media Network Awards for this honor. They say when you are dancing, you don’t know who is watching. I see this recognition as encouragement to do even more for my people,” he said.
