Bayelsa State is leading the medals chart after day three of the 2024 National Sports Festival (NSF), currently taking place in Ogun State.
The state’s athletes have showcased remarkable performances, amassing a total of nine medals.
This impressive count includes six gold medals, two silver, and a bronze, firmly establishing the state at the forefront of the Games.
Oyo State holds a commendable second place, having secured a total of six medals: four gold, one silver, and one bronze.
Lagos State is positioned in third place with a diverse medal haul of three gold, four silver, and three bronze medals, demonstrating strong performances across various disciplines.
Meanwhile, Cross River State is maintaining its competitive edge, sitting comfortably in fourth with three gold medals earned thus far.

Rounding out the top five is Rivers State, which has claimed two gold, three silver, and one bronze medal, reflecting their solid showing in the festival.
Notably, the Invited Junior Athletes (IJA) are impressively holding sixth place on the medals table, having earned two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal, further highlighting the depth of talent present at the festival.
However, defending champions and tournament favourites, Delta State, find themselves in an unusual seventh position.
They have garnered only one gold, one silver, and one bronze to date, raising eyebrows and drawing attention to their performance trajectory as the competition continues.
Overall, a total of 71 medals have been awarded across all participating states, consisting of 23 gold, 23 silver, and 25 bronze medals.
