Bayelsa State and the State of Africa in Diaspora have signed a memorandom of understanding, covering development of the health, education and agricultural sectors.
Speaking after the brief signing formalities at the Government House, Yenagoa, on Thursday, Governor Douye Diri, said the agreement will contribute significantly to the development of the state and thanked the Africans in Diaspora for the collaboration.
He stressed the need for Africans to work together to change the narrative from how Europe underdeveloped Africa to how Africans are developing Africa.

Gov. Diri expressed the optimism that before his tenure expires in 2028, so much could still be achieved with partnerships such as this.
“We have just witnessed the signing of an agreement. On behalf of our government and the people of our state, we thank you for this.
“From this moment, you are our development partner and I hope the implementation can go on really fast.
“We need to work together as Africans and tell the story of how Africans are developing Africa. We are looking forward to a robust relationship with you.”
The Prime Minister, Dr. Louis-Georges Tin, signed on behalf of the State of Africa in Diaspora, while Gov. Diri signed on behalf of the Bayelsa State government
