The First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Dr Aisha Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has called for collective efforts to eradicate gender-based violence in society.
In commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism, she joined hands with donor partners through her pet project, Al Muhibbah Foundation.
Speaking at a one-day town hall meeting organized by Al Muhibbah Foundation with support from UNFPA, the First Lady emphasized her commitment to partnering with relevant stakeholders in the ongoing battle against gender-based violence.
She lauded Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for approving the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP Law) and extended appreciation to the State House of Assembly for their support.
During the event, Haji Dr. Aisha Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed urged society to actively participate in safeguarding the rights of the girl child, protecting them from all forms of abuse.

Pledging to persist in collaboration with stakeholders, she expressed her dedication to minimizing various forms of abuse to the barest minimum.
The UNFPA representative and other partners commended the First Lady for her tireless efforts.
They called upon religious leaders to support the fight against gender-based violence and its associated repercussions.
The event marked a crucial step forward in the ongoing campaign to create a safer environment for women and girls in Bauchi State.
