Suspected bandits have carried out a series of coordinated attacks in Katsina State, killing at least one person and abducting no fewer than 15 others.
The incidents occurred in the early hours of Friday in Malumfashi Local Government Area, where multiple communities were targeted within a short time frame.
According to local sources, the attackers first invaded Unguwar Dambu, where they abducted at least 15 residents.
Hours later, the gunmen reportedly advanced to Gora community, launching another assault around 3 a.m. During the attack, two individuals were shot, with one later succumbing to injuries.

In a separate development, a pregnant woman was said to have died after collapsing from shock upon learning of the violence in her community.
The latest incidents have heightened concerns over persistent insecurity in northwestern Nigeria, where rural communities continue to face frequent raids, kidnappings, and killings.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the attacks.
Residents have continued to express frustration over the recurring violence, calling for more decisive action to protect vulnerable communities.
