The Youth wing of apex Socio-cultural Organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on the United States (US) and United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassies to place a total ban on Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state.

The youth body said it is crucial at this critical political dispensation in Nigeria to bring to the world the insecurity conspiracies masterminded by Umahi in connivance with Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and All progressives Congress (APC) governorship Candidate in the State.

Ohanaeze in a statement signed by its National President, Comrade lgboayaka. O lgboayaka, accused Umahi of sponsoring terrorism in Effium, in Ohaukwu Local government Area of Ebonyi State and SouthEast at large.

According to lgboayaka, It’s no longer a hidden agenda that on November 3, 2021, five professional Engineers from a World Class Consulting Engineering Firm, “Nelan Consultant were abducted and killed, and up until now, that wicked and barbarism killing was swept under the carpet in Ebonyi State, under the watch of the Governor.

“These engineers that were gruesomely murdered include Engr. Nelson Onyemeh (Lead Consultant), from Ihiala in Anambra State, Engr. Ernest Edeani from Nkanu in Enugu State, Ikechukwu Ejiofor from Umunya in Oyi LGA of Anambra State, Engr. Samuel Aneke from Nkanu in Enugu-East LGA of Enugu State and Engr. Stanley Nwazulum from Amawbia in Awka-South LGA of Anambra State.

“Gov David Umahi must explain to Ndigbo, Ndi Ebonyi, Nigeria and the International community what happened to these 5 able-bodied engineers.

“Darkness has come over Ndigbo under the leadership of Governor David Umahi and Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru, the current Speaker and the APC Guber Candidate in the 2023 Governorship election, whom Governor Umahi is sponsoring to continue his evil agenda against Ndigbo and Ebonyi.

“These 5 able-bodied world-class engineers were dutifully supervising the Ebonyi ring road, a contract won by NELAN from Africa Development Bank and World Bank. It’s important to note that one of the engineers was also part of the team that built Geometric Power structures at Aba”.

Continue, Igboayaka said that Umahi’s administration can only be classified as tyrannical rulership that has killed over 5,000 Ebonyians, since his inception with his militias gang of Ebubeagu Security Network, an outfit which he had used to perpetrate evil against the people, contrary to their purported role of protecting lives and property.

The group alleged that the litanies of killings in Umahi’s tyrannical administration in Ebonyi State can be described as the era of Idi Amin of Uganda, a situation in which anyone who challenges his ruthless regime receives death sentence through Ebubeagu security outfit.

“Unfortunately, Ebonyi State which was known for her Agricultural revolution during the time of Govenor Sam Egwu and Govenor Martin Elechi has been turned into a Militia Zone and a killing arena under Govenor David Umahi.

“Between January and February 2022, over 20 youths were killed at Akaeze, and their dead bodies were dumped at Ivo river, in Ivo local government. Unfortunately, the killer’s Squad, Ebubeagu, ran out of luck when they killed another youth who was identified as Mr Nnaogo Ajali, from Amarameze Umobor Akaeze in Ivo local government, still within the period.

“The tyrannic rulership of Gov. David Umahi has turned many villages in Ebonyi into a mere ghost villages. It would be recalled also that during the December 2022 village football tournament which extended to January 3, 2023, at Iyioji Secondary school Akaeze, Ivo local government, Ebube Agu stormed the field shooting sporadically, and over 20 Youths were arrested, all master-minded by one Hon. Onyewuchi Agbadu, who is currently an APC house of Assembly Candidate for Ivo local government. This is the man whom Gov. Umahi deploys in perpetuating his evil agenda in Ebonyi State.

“Earlier, around March 2, 2022, the National Youth President of Akaeze Youth Forum Sunday Ajaero, a vocal youth was kidnapped in Onitsha, the commercial bane of Anambra State, by a team led by Onyebuchi Agbadu and his brother Emmanuel Agbadu still on the instruction of Governor David Umahi.

“Ebube Agu Militias squad in Ebonyi State is now a terror to villagers and a tool for indiscriminate killings, harassment, torture and intimidation against any perceived political enemy of Governor David Umahi.

“The activities of Ebube Agu are becoming too worrisome and unbearable. For instance, we gathered that on 8 February 2023, at Ohaozara, about six(6) people were shot, one youth was shot in the chest, with a teenager, one pregnant woman and one military personnel received a gunshot from Ebube Agu Militias. Those who ran for their lives during the shooting were pursued by Ebube Agu into Mr Ogbonnaya Eleodi’s compound for protection (opposite secretariat), and many people were injured whereas not fewer than 8 vehicles were destroyed by Ebube Agu Militias’ squad.

“The National Security Adviser, National Director of State Security Service and Inspector General of Police must as a matter of urgency understand that Ebube Agu in Ebonyi State is merely serving the interest of Gov. David Umahi, and it’s a time bomb waiting to explode, an incident that will interrupt national peace and a direct security threat to the nation.

“The human rights violation, intimidation, Harassment, torture and killing under Gov David Umahi no doubt, surpass what Idi Amin did in Uganda from 1971 to 1979. With the rate of human fundamental rights violations in Ebonyi State, Gov David Umahi is currently the most brutal Governor in Nigeria and Africa at large”.

Ohanaeze Youth Lauded the competent federal high Court in Abakiliki led by Justice Akintayo Aluko over the Disbandment of Ebubeagu security outfit on Tuesday 14th February 2023.

“We, therefore, call on DSS and Nigeria Police Force to immediately mob out all the guns Gov David Umahi and his Ebube Agu Militias have been using to Terrorize Ebonyians. And ensure that the victims of his tyrannical reign get justice”.
