Following the expiration of the tenure of elected Council chairmen in the state about two months ago and coupled with the preparation for the conduct of the forthcoming general elections, his administration is left with no option but to appoint Caretaker Committees chairmen to run the affairs of the councils pending the conduct of councils election.

“The choice of the Chairmen of the Caretaker Committees for the challenging task has been informed by their loyalty, contributions to the development of our great party, the PDP, and above all their past contributions to the development of Bauchi State in particular and the Nation in general.”

“By virtue of being closer to the people, local governments are required to provide good governance at the grassroots as enshrined in the fourth schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, (as amended).”
