Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, known as Baba Ijesha, has publicly addressed his situation for the first time since being released from prison, alleging that he was set up in the case that resulted in his incarceration.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel titled: “Eniwaye Dáràn,” the actor discussed the controversy surrounding the 2021 incident in which fellow actress Princess accused him of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter.
“My trust was betrayed. I ended up in Kirikiri Prison because of a woman. She wanted to silence me so my voice wouldn’t be heard. Please, listen to my side of the story,” he stated.
Baba Ijesha recounted that the incident leading to his arrest took place on April 21, 2021, when Princess allegedly invited him to her home under the pretense of having prepared his favorite meal.

He also claimed he was informed that a movie role was waiting for him, only to later find out that there was no film project and that the situation had been orchestrated to facilitate his arrest.
“Please, my fans, be cautious with friends. They cannot be trusted. The world is filled with evil, and people can be more treacherous than venomous snakes,” Ijesha warned.
His remarks have generated mixed reactions online, with many revisiting the controversial case and expressing various opinions about his assertions.
Baba Ijesha was released in November 2025 after serving a three-year sentence following the widely publicized case that rocked the Nigerian entertainment scene.
