An autopsy report has revealed that Nollywood actor and skit maker Odira Nwobu died from poisoning, weeks after his sudden death in South Africa.
Nwobu passed away while on holiday in South Africa, where he had travelled with friends. His death initially sparked shock and grief among fans and colleagues after reports suggested that he died from complications related to high blood pressure.
However, fresh details that recently surfaced online indicate that an autopsy was conducted, with findings reportedly confirming poisoning as the cause of death.
The development has triggered widespread reactions and renewed speculation surrounding the circumstances of the actor’s demise. Arthur Scott, a director who worked closely with Nwobu, confirmed the authenticity of the circulating autopsy report.

“We are still waiting for the complete report, but this is confusing because we cannot comprehend how he was poisoned,” Scott said.
Following Nwobu’s death, South African security agencies launched an investigation and ordered an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.
The new revelation has also reignited earlier allegations and online accusations against some of the actor’s friends. Shortly after his death, claims circulated on social media alleging that Nwobu had gone on a roller coaster ride despite purported health challenges—claims that were never officially substantiated.
Authorities are yet to release a full and detailed report, as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the actor’s death continue.
