Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has slammed the security framework of the Tinubu administration, describing it as a failed system that has allowed violence and killings to spiral across the country.
In a statement released on Friday via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Atiku expressed deep concern over what he called the “endemic” nature of insecurity under Tinubu’s leadership, warning that Nigerians are becoming desensitised to the frequent reports of violence.
“The failure of Bola Tinubu’s security architecture has now become an endemic nationwide phenomenon with repeated killings, more of which do not even make the headlines,” Atiku said.
He cited the recent attacks in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, where multiple lives were lost in fresh violence, as another tragic example of the government’s inability to protect its citizens.

“Nigerians are now being forced to get used to such news of wanton killings,” he said, offering condolences to the affected communities and families in Plateau State.
The former vice president renewed his longstanding call for a comprehensive reform of Nigeria’s security system, urging President Tinubu to take immediate and decisive action.
“I wish to restate my counsel to the Tinubu-led federal government to reconfigure its security architecture to meet the needs of protecting the lives and properties of our people,” he said.
