The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti has announced that they are starting an indefinite strike because their members have not received their salaries.
The announcement was made on Thursday in a letter to the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu. The letter was signed by the branch Chairman, O. A. Fagbuagun, and Financial Secretary, Ngwu Benitho. They stated that the strike will last until the lecturers get paid.

The union explained that this decision follows a directive from the national ASUU leadership. They emphasized that if university staff do not receive their salaries by the third day of each month, the local union has the right to go on strike.
The letter clearly communicated that the ASUU-FUOYE branch is officially striking until their salaries are paid, describing the action as total and ongoing without a set end date.
