Relief has finally come to the people of Asaba as former Delta State Commissioner for Works, Dr. George Ugbomah, hailed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for delivering the long-awaited storm drainage system that is set to transform the state capital.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ugbomah described the project as a visionary achievement that not only tackles Asaba’s perennial flooding but also secures the future of critical infrastructure across the bustling metropolis.
“The governor’s commitment to enhancing the livability and sustainability of Asaba is truly commendable. This project is a testament to his administration’s proactive approach to tackling environmental challenges,” Ugbomah said.
He stressed that the master drainage system represents a permanent solution to flooding, a problem that for years turned major roads into rivers and left businesses and residents counting losses each rainy season. According to him, Oborevwori’s foresight in completing the project has set a new standard for governance in Delta State.
