Roma has restated their interest to bring Arsenal defensive midfielder to the Italian club despite failing to land in the player last summer.
The Giallorossi boss, Jose Mourinho has renewed his pursuit for the Swiss holding midfielder whose transfer to the Italian club failed last summer because Arsenal refused to heed the call to reduce the €15m price tag for the player.
Xhaka has already agreed on personal contractual terms with AS Roma but could not perfect his move due to hiccups that arose from the serious negotiations between the English and Italian clubs.
However, the Giallorossi, eager to bolster their team by next season with a list of players already pinpointed, have included Arsenal’s defender midfielder as a prime target in the summer.
According to reports, Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in the player who is believed to have a frosty relationship with Arsenal and refused to wear the club’s captain armband in a recent match.
More so, AS Roma are strategising on a move to land in the Swiss to Italy by improving on their earlier bid for the player in the summer.
