Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Ipswich has thwarted Liverpool’s hopes of clinching the Premier League title on Sunday, as they easily defeated the 10-man Ipswich team at Portman Road.
In their first game since eliminating Real Madrid to advance to the Champions League semi-finals, the Gunners delivered another impressive performance against an Ipswich squad facing relegation.
From the outset, Arsenal took control of the match and opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Bukayo Saka’s cross was slightly deflected by Martin Odegaard and finished off by Leandro Trossard.
They extended their lead with more excellent play from Saka, whose cross into the box was deftly flicked on by Mikel Merino, allowing Gabriel Martinelli to score into an unguarded net.
Ipswich faced an even tougher challenge when Leif Davis received a red card in the 32nd minute for a reckless tackle on Saka.
Trossard netted his second goal of the match in the 69th minute, finishing neatly from inside the box after a well-executed short corner by Arsenal.

Substitute Ethan Nwaneri added a fourth goal for Arsenal with a deflected shot just two minutes before the end of the match.
The Gunners had several opportunities to score more, including one for Merino and two for Saka, which Mikel Arteta would have expected to be converted.
This marked Ipswich’s seventh home loss of 2025, leaving them fighting to maintain their Premier League status for another week.
While this win postponed Liverpool’s certain title victory, Arsenal’s primary focus remains on their Champions League campaign.
