Arsenal has announced a record revenue of £616.6 million, just as the club incurred an overall loss of £17.7 million for the financial year that concluded on May 31, 2024.
During the 2023-24 season, the Gunners made a return to the Champions League, advancing to the quarter-finals, which significantly contributed to a £71.1 million increase in broadcasting revenue and a £29.1 million rise in match day revenue.
Mikel Arteta’s team secured a second-place finish in the Premier League, while the women’s team achieved third in the Women’s Super League and claimed the League Cup.
Arsenal stated in a statement that “the club continues to be compliant with all applicable financial sustainability regulations set forth by Uefa and the Premier League.”

Arsenal’s record revenue represented a 32.1 percent increase on the £466.7million posted in May 2023, while the overall £17.7million loss before tax was a 66 percent decrease on the club’s £52.1million loss over the 2022-23 campaign.
The return of Champions League football contributed towards an increase in broadcasting revenue from £191.2million to £262.3million, and match day revenue from £102.6million to £131.7million.
Arsenal reported that “wage costs increased significantly,” rising almost 40 percent from £234.8million to £327.8million, which was “driven by investment in player wages in both men’s and women’s teams.”
Profit on player sales and loans increased to £52.4million, up from £12.2million, but net finance charges increased from £6.2million to £18.4million.
“Player trading profits continue to have a significant impact on overall profitability, and the club’s ability to realise profits during 2023-24 was again adversely impacted by market conditions with reduced overall liquidity as clubs’ acquisition budgets continued to be impacted by financial pressures,” Arsenal said.
The club said the “renewal and extension of our agreement with Emirates led the way on partnerships” as commercial revenue increased from £169.3million to £218.3million.
