Arsenal is set to sign Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard for a £10 million transfer amid uncertainty regarding Thomas Partey’s future.
Reports suggest that the Gunners are considering an initial £10 million deal, potentially rising to £15 million with performance-related bonuses for the 31-year-old Danish international.
Norgaard, who wasn’t initially a long-term target for Arsenal, has now caught the club’s attention as they look to add experience to their midfield, especially since 32-year-old Partey has yet to reach an agreement on a contract extension.
Partey’s current contract is set to expire next week, and if no agreement is made, he will depart the club.
Norgaard’s contract with Brentford runs until 2027. He joined the club in 2019 and has become a key player under former manager Thomas Frank, who is now at Tottenham.

Additionally, Arsenal is expected to finalize the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this week by activating his £5 million release clause and is close to completing a £51 million deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
Norgaard has just finished his sixth consecutive season at the Gtech Community Stadium, participating in all four of Brentford’s Premier League seasons.
Since making his top-flight debut in 2021, he has recorded 201 interceptions, the highest of any Premier League player during that time, and ranks second for recoveries (844) and third for tackles won (189).
While not primarily known for scoring, he achieved his best goal tally in the 2024-25 season with six goals across all competitions, marking the highest of his 14-year professional career.
