Army to deploy 6,195 new recruits nationwide to boost national security

The army is preparing to deploy 6,195 newly trained soldiers throughout the country to bolster national security efforts.

These recruits, who are part of the 88 regular recruit intake, have completed six months of rigorous training at the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Among the 6,450 candidates who started training on January 13, 2025, 255 of them did not finish the demanding programme.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, is anticipated to oversee the passing-out parade, which will officially welcome the successful recruits.

The new soldiers will be assigned to various operational areas across Nigeria, where they will receive further specialized training.

This deployment aims to enhance the military’s ability to combat insurgency, banditry, and other security challenges facing the country.
