The army has inaugurated the Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers project in Idu, Abuja.
This initiative includes 100 blocks of four flats, designed to accommodate 400 families.
The project honours a commitment made by the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, ensuring that five percent of the units are allocated for soldiers wounded in action.
The launch ceremony was performed the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.
During the event, Gen. Musa praised the housing project as a reflection of the army’s dedication to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, affirmed his commitment to realizing his predecessor’s vision and emphasized the importance of prioritizing the well-being of soldiers.
“This project underscores our enduring support for the men and women who dedicate their lives to the defense of our nation,” he stated.
Key moments of the event included the symbolic handover of keys to wounded soldiers, a tour of the housing units, cultural performances and a group photograph to honor the bravery and resilience of the soldier
