The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has sent a strong message to criminal elements across the nation, warning them to flee or face the full force of the Nigerian Army. Speaking during his maiden operational visit to the 1 Division Nigerian Army in Kaduna on Wednesday, Oluyede made it clear that the Army under his leadership is prepared to confront and defeat all threats to national security.

“The enemies of Nigeria should prepare for a more serious and powerful Army,” he declared, underscoring the military’s renewed commitment to tackling criminal activities decisively.

Oluyede also unveiled his command philosophy, signed on December 10, which is anchored on professionalism, effective leadership, and robust administration. He emphasized that the welfare of soldiers would be his top priority, noting that well-supported troops are essential for achieving the mission of eliminating criminal elements from the country.

“I will do everything possible to enhance their welfare in terms of accommodation, kitting, and training, ensuring they become even better soldiers,” Oluyede stated, reaffirming his dedication to the troops’ well-being.

The Army Chief encouraged front-line troops to remain resilient and adapt to new operational tactics, promising a fresh approach to field operations aimed at improving their conditions and effectiveness.

During his visit, Oluyede also inaugurated two blocks of 30-family accommodations at Kotoko Barracks in Ribadu Cantonment, further demonstrating his commitment to improving the living standards of Army personnel.
