The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Olufemi Oluyede, has extended heartfelt gratitude to officers, soldiers, and their families as Nigeria marks the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. In a statement released on Wednesday by the Director of Army Public Relations, Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Oluyede paid tribute to the sacrifices of fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the unity and stability of the nation.

Oluyede described the annual commemoration as a solemn occasion to honor both living and departed members of the armed forces. He emphasized their unparalleled bravery and contributions to national security, recognizing their role in shaping a peaceful and harmonious society despite Nigeria’s diverse perspectives.

In his address, Oluyede called on troops to uphold the values exemplified by their predecessors. He urged them to remain resolute in their oath of allegiance, approach security challenges with unwavering resilience, and maintain their loyalty to the nation.

Reaffirming his dedication to the welfare of personnel and their families, Oluyede assured service members of his leadership’s commitment to their well-being. He emphasized that selfless service and dedication are essential for instilling hope and fostering a brighter future for Nigeria.
