Apostle Johnson Suleman, the senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, has stirred reactions by criticizing the government over increasing insecurity.

During his sermon on Sunday, he condemned the government and the alarming normalization of violence in the country, calling the situation extremely concerning.

“It’s pointless to pray if you’ve elected someone unfit for the position. The only prayer worth making now is for the strength to endure the suffering.

“It shows a shocking lack of sensitivity when, while people are grieving, you send out media teams for damage control,” he stated.

He also expressed concern over how the continuous reports of violence are impacting the mental health of Nigerians, warning that repeated exposure to such events is diminishing empathy among the populace.

He noted that the nation is becoming numb to the loss of life, with people reacting indifferently to tragic news instead of demanding accountability.

“You wake up to hear that 40 people have been killed somewhere, and you just say ‘oh no’ and move on. Do you realize what that does to your mind? It’s eroding empathy.

“Death is becoming commonplace. We’re not discussing the number of chickens; we’re talking about human lives,” he remarked.

Additionally, he criticized the government’s handling of national tragedies, urging officials to demonstrate empathy instead of focusing on managing public perceptions.

“When people are in mourning, your media should remain silent. It’s a lack of empathy to respond defensively while people are grieving. That’s insensitivity,” he concluded.
