The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Emmanuel Nwachukwu has been declared the winner of the by-election for the Anambra South Senatorial District, held on Saturday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results on Sunday in Nnewi Local Government Area.
Prof. Frank Ojiako, the returning officer at the INEC office in Nnewi, declared Nwachukwu the winner of the Anambra South senatorial seat.

He received 90,408 votes, defeating his closest rival, Chief Azuka Okwuosa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 19,847 votes.
Mr. Donald Amangbo of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came in third, with a total of 2,889 votes.
