The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a change in the venue and time for its crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Initially planned to hold at the party’s National Secretariat on 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja, the NEC meeting will now take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, starting at 2:00 pm.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who attributed the shift to “logistical reasons.”
“The change of venue from the party’s National Secretariat… to the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa is due to logistical reasons,” Morka said.
The rescheduled NEC meeting comes at a critical moment for the ruling party as it grapples with a leadership vacuum following the resignation of its former national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, in June. Ganduje reportedly stepped down due to health-related concerns.

Top party insiders have indicated that the NEC may endorse acting chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, to continue in a caretaker capacity until a full elective convention is held later in the year.
The meeting is also expected to deliberate on key strategic issues, including: Updates from the Constitution Review Committee; Progress reports on the party’s e-registration drive; Preparations for the 2027 general elections and APC Leadership and Internal Reforms Under Focus
The NEC’s decisions on leadership and internal reforms are expected to shape the party’s roadmap towards 2027, amid growing internal agitation and calls for restructuring. Analysts say that whoever emerges as Ganduje’s substantive replacement will play a significant role in stabilizing the APC and managing potential regional power tussles ahead of the next polls.
