The All Progressives Congress has released a detailed timetable for its 2026 nationwide congresses and national convention, setting the stage for a major internal reorganisation ahead of future electoral contests. The party also announced the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms across ward, local government, state, zonal and national levels, fixing the National Chairman’s form at ₦10 million.
In a statement issued from its National Secretariat at Buhari House, Wuse II, Abuja, the ruling party described the document as an adjusted schedule for ward, local government, state, zonal congresses and the national convention. It said the timetable was drawn in line with provisions of Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution.
According to the party, the schedule outlines the processes and timelines for electing party officials across wards, local government areas and states of the federation. Membership e-registration for ward and local government congresses is slated to begin on Saturday, January 31, and end on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Notice of congresses to state chapters and the FCT will be issued on Monday, February 2.
The purchase and submission of forms for ward and local government positions will run from Wednesday, February 4, to Monday, February 9, followed by the inauguration of ward and LGA congress screening and appeals committees on Tuesday, February 10. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for February 11 and 12, while ward congresses will hold on Wednesday, February 18.
Local government congresses, including the election of three delegates to the national convention, one of whom must be female, are fixed for Saturday, February 21. Appeals arising from the LGA congresses will be handled on Monday, February 23.
At the state level, the APC said the sale of forms for state executive positions will take place between Sunday, February 22, and Wednesday, February 25, with state congresses scheduled for Tuesday, March 3.

Zonal and national activities will commence with the purchase and submission of forms for zonal congresses and the national convention from Thursday, March 12, to Monday, March 16. Zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones are fixed for Wednesday, March 25. The venues are Ibadan for the South West, Enugu for the South East, Rivers or Cross River for the South South, Kaduna for the North West, Gombe or Bauchi for the North East, and Nasarawa for the North Central.
The party’s national convention will hold over two days, from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Alongside the timetable, the APC announced a comprehensive schedule of fees for nomination and expression of interest forms. At the ward level, aspirants are to pay ₦5,000 for expression of interest. The ward chairman form costs ₦20,000, while secretary, treasurer, vice chairmen and other officers will pay ₦15,000.
For local government positions, expression of interest attracts ₦10,000. The nomination form for LGA chairman is ₦100,000, while other LGA offices cost ₦50,000 each.
At the state level, expression of interest for all positions is ₦50,000. The state chairman form costs ₦1 million, while state vice chairman, secretary and treasurer forms are priced at ₦500,000.
Zonal aspirants are to pay ₦100,000 for expression of interest and ₦200,000 for nomination forms. At the national level, expression of interest for all positions is ₦100,000. The National Chairman nomination form is pegged at ₦10 million, while Deputy National Chairmen for the North and South and the National Secretary will pay ₦7.5 million.
The APC also announced concessions for female aspirants, youths and persons living with disabilities, who are required to pay the full expression of interest fee but only 50 percent of the prescribed nomination fee for their chosen positions.
The release of the timetable and fees signals the formal kickoff of the APC’s internal political season, with intense contests expected across party structures nationwide as aspirants begin to position themselves ahead of the March 2026 convention.
