Ahead of the 2027 general elections, New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, Ebonyi state chapter, said it has started strategizing to take over power in the state for more development.

Ojeogu Ifeanyi, state Chairman of the party, who disclosed this on Tuesday in Abakaliki, during meeting of the LGA chairmen and state working committee, regretted that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has failed Nigerians and assured that NNPP Ebonyi state will occupy the state Government House from 2027 for inclusive, accountable, proactive and real democratic governance.

The state Chairman explained that, “The essence of our meeting is to strategise on how to take over Ebonyi state government house come 2027. The party has resolved and marshall out plans on how to unseat his Excellency Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State. NNPP is set to snatch the seat of governance from him in 2027 general elections in the state.

“Our strategies are so robust as you can see the caliber of people in this meeting today. You watched what happened in Kano. NNPP is the ruling party in Kano, the largest state in Nigeria with 44 LGAs. We will take more states from 2027 and those states include Ebonyi because our members are numerous here.

“I advise all residents of Ebonyi State to get their voters cards ready to vote NNPP gubernatorial candidate in 2027 for a more progressive Ebonyi state. We are taking over House of Representatives, Senate and all elective positions in the state because our people deserve the best of democratic dividends.

“Just as you can see in our logo which is basket of fruits, NNPP will do better than APC. NNPP will redeem Ebonyi people from APC bad government and offer that long expected succour to all Ebonyi residents both indigenes and non-indigenes alike,” he assured.

“NNPP, under our national chairman, Dr Major Agbo and Comrade Oginyi Sunday is happy and resolute. About the rumours of coalition making the rounds, I want to make it clear that NNPP is not ready to join any group of coalition. We distance ourselves from the plan of coalition led by his Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso, he was expelled from the party long ago over anti-party activities.”

The party’s state women leader, Chukwu Precious assured the women of more affirmative action in the state as the party takes over power in 2027.

According to her, women are key to rapid development of any society and election/appointment of more women in politics will make Ebonyi state the envy of other states in Nigeria.

On his part, the party’s state Secretary, Nworie Friday said, “NNPP has come to stay in Ebonyi state. We assure you that the party will take over power in the state from 2027. Change they say is constant, no government has done it well in Ebonyi.

“The APC government has failed Ebonyi people, they are not meeting up to our expectations, that is why NNPP will snatch power from them in 2027 to make people of the state really happier. We will show the people how best to govern the state. Our blueprint is there and we are ready to change the narrative of the state positively.”
