Prominent lawyer and political commentator Jesutega Onokpasa, a well-respected member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away.
The news was confirmed on Tuesday by Okezie J. Atañi, a dedicated supporter of the APC, through a heartfelt post on social media.
Onokpasa, who played a significant role on the APC’s Presidential Campaign Council Publicity Committee during the 2023 elections, was known for his articulate political analyses and staunch advocacy for President Bola Tinubu.
He frequently appeared on various television platforms, leveraging his expertise to champion the administration’s policies and defend its decisions in the public eye.

However, in a surprising turn of events earlier this year, Onokpasa publicly retracted his support for Tinubu as the 2027 elections approached.
He expressed concerns over escalating insecurity across the nation, severe economic challenges affecting everyday Nigerians, and what he viewed as a neglect of loyal party members who had stood by the President amid turbulent times.
His untimely death has elicited a wave of reactions from political circles, with many figures expressing their sorrow and paying tribute to a passionate and outspoken advocate in Nigerian politics.
