A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samson Efe, has announced his resignation from the party, citing dissatisfaction with the leadership of the state Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, particularly regarding what he described as biased appointments.
Efe, a stalwart of the PDP in Ughelli South Local Government, also criticized the party’s failure to demonstrate effective leadership, stating that these shortcomings compelled his decision to leave the party.
He alleged that the party’s internal dynamics had created an environment where his continued membership was untenable.
A letter dated January 14, 2025, addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Ewu Ward II, Ughelli South Local Government Area, outlined Efe’s grievances.

The letter reads: “However, recent developments within the party made it practically impossible for me to continue participating.
“The uneven distribution of the appointments and the party’s inability to provide the necessary leadership as expected has forced this resignation”, he said.
The letter was also copied to the PDP chairman of Ughelli South and the state chairman, underscoring the significance of his decision and the issues he raised.
