Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie is still being held at the Suleja Correctional Facility, even though she has reportedly fulfilled the bail conditions set by the court.
On Friday, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted her bail of ₦5 million, requiring one surety of the same amount, who must be a Level 13 civil servant.
Self-proclaimed human rights activist Stanley Ontop provided an update on Instagram, explaining the reason for her continued detention.
He stated, that “Angela Okorie’s bail application has been processed, but by the time we finished, it was already late.”
He mentioned that her bail was secured thanks to the efforts of various activists and public figures, including Omoyele Sowore, Mama Pee, and Randy Peter.
Despite meeting the court’s stipulations, Angela Okorie remains in custody, which has raised concerns and sparked discussions on social media.
