The Anambra State Police Command has announced a partial restriction of vehicular movement across the state as part of heightened security measures for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s official visit.
The directive was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga. The restriction is aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining order during the President’s high-profile visit.
“The Anambra State Police Command, on behalf of other security agencies, seeks more cooperation of Ndi Anambra as they welcome His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria to the State today, 8th May 2025,” said Ikenga.
He added that there will be a partial adjustment of vehicular movements, urging residents to bear with the security agencies and comply with the temporary changes.

The Police Command called for calm and public cooperation, stressing the collective responsibility of maintaining security during the visit.
“The Command also enjoins the good people of Anambra to remain law-abiding and to continue to partner and support the Police and other security agencies in their task of making the State safe for everyone,” Ikenga stated.
President Tinubu is expected to commission several major infrastructure projects and engage with key political and community leaders during his visit to Anambra. The visit marks a significant moment for the state, which is strategically important in the South-East geopolitical zone.
