The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place in Lagos, celebrating the vibrant and diverse storytelling of the continent.

The night’s major highlights included “Everything Light Touches” winning Best Multichoice Talent Factory and “My Fairytale Wedding” receiving the award for Best Scripted (M-Net Original).

For Best Indigenous Language (West Africa), “Lisabi: The Uprising” was celebrated as the winner, while “ZI M UZO” took home the award for Best Indigenous (M-Net Original). In the short film category, “Brukaci” emerged victorious.

Several standout performances were acknowledged in the acting categories, with “Clarence Peters’ Inside Life” earning Gabriel Afolayan the award for Best Supporting Actor and Mercy Aigbe recognized for her role in “Farmer’s Bride” as Best Supporting Actress. Femi Adebayo secured the Best Lead Actor award for his performance in “Seven Doors,” while Chioma Chukwuka won Best Lead Actress for her role in the same film.
In technical achievements, “Inkabi” took home the award for Best Editing, and “The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos” won for Best Cinematography, showcasing the excellence and craftsmanship present in Africa’s film and television industry.
