Nigeria Para Swimming Federation has elected Amobi Chikwendu, the immediate past President of Nigeria Para Athletic Federation, as its new President on Friday in Abuja.
Chikwendu emerged victorious in the federation’s election conducted at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium where he polled 7 votes out of 10 to defeat his opponent, Emoghavwe Ochuko who scored 3 votes.
Following the victory, the new President of Nigeria Para Swimming Federation noted that he has always contributed to the growth and development of Para Athletics and will ensure he does the same for the swimming federation. The Trumpet Gathered
“I have tried my best in Para Athletics and I will do much more in Para Swimming to excel,” Chikwendu said according to a report by NAN.
“We will develop the sport and bring it to an enabling height that is a promise to the country.

“I decided to switch my portfolio from Para Athletics to Para Swimming and I have done better in Para Swimming,” he stated.
Meanwhile, in the vice presidential elections to determine who deputises Chikwendu, Bose Kaffo defeated Peter Agbado, having polled seven votes out of ten.
NAN in its report noted that the election was conducted under the guidance of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.
However, a total of seven Para Sports Federation elections were supposed to be held on Friday but only six were conducted.
