American wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest.

Emergency responders were called to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, early Thursday morning, with reports indicating a “cardiac arrest” situation.

Numerous police vehicles and EMTs were seen outside his residence, and Hogan was transported on a stretcher to an ambulance.

Just weeks prior, Hogan’s wife, Sky, had dismissed rumors of him being in a coma, assuring that his heart was “strong” as he recovered from recent surgeries.

Last month, there were speculations about Hogan being on his “deathbed,” but it was clarified that he was simply coping with the effects of a neck surgery he had in May.

Hulk Hogan played a pivotal role in transforming professional wrestling into a mainstream family entertainment spectacle.

Before his rise, wrestling primarily appealed to a limited audience.

His captivating performances in the ring attracted both children and their parents, significantly boosting the sport’s popularity.

In 1996, Hogan reinvented himself from a hero to a villain by forming the NWO (New World Order) and adopting the persona of Hollywood Hulk Hogan, which further elevated his and wrestling’s fame.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 but was removed in 2015 following a scandal involving racist remarks made during a secretly recorded encounter.

Hogan later sued Gawker for releasing the footage and won the case.

In 2020, he was re-inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, this time as a member of the NWO.

Hogan also enjoyed a successful film career, starting in 1982 with “Rocky III,” where he played the memorable character Thunderlips.

He went on to star in “No Holds Barred,” “Suburban Commando,” and “Mr. Nanny.”

Additionally, Hogan appeared in the popular VH1 reality series “Hogan Knows Best,” featuring his family, including Linda, Nick, and Brooke.

Remarkably, Hogan underwent numerous surgeries due to wrestling-related injuries, and he once told Harvey during a taping of “Objectified” that he had no original body parts left.
