The Nigerian Secondary School Flag Football League Season 3 – Aketi Bowl II has commenced in Calabar, Cross River State. No fewer than 180 secondary school students from nine states are participating in the tournament.
The champion will go home with N1 million, while the second prize winner will get N700, 000 and the third prize winner is to receive N350, 000.
National President of the Nigerian American Football Association (NAFA), Babajide Akeredolu, disclosed this to sportwriters in Calabar.
He said that the event marks another significant milestone in the journey of NAFA, showcasing and creating opportunities through the game of American football.
Akeredolu added that over the years, the association’s relentless efforts have yielded remarkable results, adding that they are celebrating not just the growth and expansion of sport, but the incredible potentials of young athletes who are shaping the future.

The NAFA president said that the body is an organization committed to grassroots sport development, maintaining that choosing to introduce flag football to young athletes is the best way to go to guarantee rapid adoption.
This, he said has engineered the creation of the Nigerian Secondary School Flag Football, intended for students in secondary schools between the ages of 12-18.
The association Akeredolu stated was established with a clear vision in mind – to create opportunities through the game of American football.
