Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, has dismissed a’ no-case submission’ by the former acting Accountant-General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Nwabuoku, on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
The court ruled that he must defend himself against charges of fraud brought by the EFCC.
This was disclosed via the official handle of the EFCC on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Prosecutor Ekele Iheanacho, SAN, argued that the offences fall under the Money Laundering Act, citing evidence of unlawful transactions between the Ministry of Defence and companies during Nwabuoku’s tenure as director of finance and accounts.

Defence counsel Norrison I. Quakers, SAN, contested the EFCC’s authority and the sufficiency of the evidence.
Justice Omotosho stated that it is premature to judge the witnesses’ credibility now, but sufficient evidence on conspiracy and money laundering warrants Nwabuoku’s defence.
The court adjourned the case to November 24, 2025.
