Activist and lawyer Aisha Yesufu has voiced her worries regarding the growing number of fatalities among Nigerian soldiers, urging the National Assembly of Nigeria to take immediate action.
She characterized the troop losses as occurring at a “sickeningly alarming rate” and questioned whether the lawmakers, who are elected to protect the citizens, are actually fulfilling their responsibilities.
Yesufu inquired whether the National Assembly has called upon the relevant authorities to clarify the situation and what legislative measures are in place to ensure the safety of soldiers and their families.

She also expressed concern for the welfare of the families of deceased soldiers, calling for transparency regarding the support systems available to them.
