The Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Oil and Gas Matters, Chief Edafevwotu Akpos, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for his prompt response and intervention in the recent spate of child abductions in Agbarho.
The governor’s aide also commended the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Jaro Egbo, and Samson Ogugu, the Osuivie of Agbarho Kingdom.
It will be recalled that women of Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area, recently staged a peaceful protest in Agbarho over the abduction of more than 26 children by unknown persons within a span of two months.
In a viral video of the protest, the women accused security agencies of ignoring the persistent security challenges in Agbarho Town.
Chief Akpos, while praising the swift intervention of Gov. Oborevwori, and the others, stated that their prompt action will not only curb the menace of child abductions in Agbarho Kingdom and Ughelli North as a whole, but will also help bring an end to the nefarious activities of criminals across the state.

He stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen in Agbarho, shortly after the governor’s fact-finding delegation visited the community regarding the child abductions.
He called on parents to be vigilant regarding the safety of their children and wards, and appealed to the protesting women to remain calm.
The governor’s aide assured them that the state government will get to the root of the problem and bring those responsible to justice.
Chief Akpos further noted that since Olorogun Jaro Egbo assumed office as the Chairman of Ughelli North Council, he has worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of residents.
He urged cooperation among community members, security agencies, and all well-meaning citizens of Ughelli North to support the chairman’s efforts to combat crime in the area.
