Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially signed the ₦955 billion 2025 Budget of Consolidation and Expansion into law.
The historic signing ceremony took place at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Uyo, with key dignitaries in attendance, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Udeme Otong, members of the State Executive Council, and other lawmakers.
In his remarks, Governor Eno applauded the State House of Assembly for the swift passage of the budget, emphasizing the harmonious collaboration between the executive and legislative arms. He urged continued synergy to ensure the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Akwa Ibom State.
This budget, which was passed by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on December 24, 2024, following a detailed report by Dr. Itoro Etim, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation and Finance, reflects the government’s commitment to development. The legislative body adopted the report, dissolved into the Committee of the Whole, and passed the budget into law after a third reading.

Breaking down the 2025 budget:
– Recurrent expenditure: ₦300 billion
– Capital expenditure: ₦655 billion
The ₦955 billion allocation marks a 3% increase from the revised ₦923.412 billion provision for 2024, signaling the government’s strategic focus on consolidation and expansion.
With this bold financial blueprint, Akwa Ibom State is set to chart new paths for economic growth and infrastructural development in 2025.
The 2025 budget highlights the government’s priorities in delivering critical infrastructure, boosting social services, and creating opportunities for all citizens.
